hi; I believe the Ensoniq 1370 & 1371 chipsets work perfectly with SuSE. I never had any trouble with the 1370. I didn't use alsaconf(which YaST2 uses) in 6.2 and 6.3, instead if you look in /etc/conf.modules you'll still see the kernel driver to use. Now I use YaST2 or alsaconf to set it up and it works perfect. Remember if you use alsaconf or YaST2, in the kernel configuration under Loadable Modules say no to: Set Version info for all symbols. Yes, the log files may say: "snd card out of range", but sound should still work. Sometimes a problem may be caused by other things. Read /proc/interrupts, /proc/pci, /proc/ioports, and the log files. good luck -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
