Re: Tumbleweed: I have an Epson WP-4530 all-in-one printer/copier/scanner. The Driver is available in /usr/etcetera, and Yast claims to have installed it, and if I try to print something, the Epson is shown as a choice, but nothing happens.
Well, the first step is to examine the printer logs. /var/log/cups/.
Here's a portion of a long repetitive log list:
localhost - root [30/Jun/2019:15:42:23 -0400] "POST / HTTP/1.1" 200 186 Renew-Subscription successful-ok localhost - - [30/Jun/2019:16:09:33 -0400] "POST /printers/EpsonWP4530 HTTP/1.1" 200 331 Create-Job successful-ok localhost - - [30/Jun/2019:16:09:33 -0400] "POST /printers/EpsonWP4530 HTTP/1.1" 200 9579 Send-Document successful-ok localhost - - [30/Jun/2019:16:21:10 -0400] "POST / HTTP/1.1" 200 183 Renew-Subscription successful-ok
I don't know what it means.
No error so far. Are you looking at "access_log"? Not that one. "error_log".
Possibly "error_log". Then increase log verbosity in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf,
LogLevel debug
I could not make this work. I just get an error message when I try to get to this directory and run LogLevel debug.
It is not a command. It is an edit you have to do on said file. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.0 x86_64 at Telcontar)
