What's happen if I remove the /var/adm/YaST and its subdirectorys? My filesystem /var is almost full and I need to free space.
Is that directory too big on your system? My "/var/adm/YaST" is just a bit less than 12 Mb. Another one that can grow a bit is /var/lib, because the update patches go there. My "/var/lib/YaST2/you/i386/update/8.1/rpm" has 103 Mb. Also "/var/log" grows continuously, but not much: unless there is an error somewhere, and your logs are growing excedingly (esp. the kernel log). If that is so, you can adjust logrotate to take care of that. One that is bigger than I thought is "/var/spool/cups/", it seems to be keeping some jobs in the tmp dir. To see what dirs are big, I like to use mc (midnight comander): there is a "show directory sIzes" under the "Command" menu. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
