Did you replace your hard drive/change the mode of addressing your hard drive in the BIOS/change the lilo.conf file by any chance? L_ indicates a disk geometry problem. I got it recently when I installed a new 5.7 Maxtor. I have LILO installed in the MBR. Disabling the "linear" option in the YAST setup menu for LILO solved the problem. (If my memory serves me right the "linear" option even though it was set active under YAST did not appear in the lilo.conf file on my SuSE 5.1 box.) Please let the list know what fixes the problem for you. Good Luck, Jesse McDonnell On Sun, 22 Nov 1998, Dark_Hour wrote:
