Should I consider AMD and what chip set should I consider?
I'd forget the Pentium4 and PentiumD. Get prices for the Core2Duo and Atlon64_X2 (Socket AM2) and go from there. I haven't worked with the Core2Duo - only ever seen 32bit Windows based benchmarks, but I can tell you that the Athlon64 is much stronger in a 64bit environment than the 64bit Intels. Hans
