BTDT. Lost one partition in the middle of an lvm volume across 3 physical partitions - could not recover anything! I did have a backup, but not completely up to date. I changed my backup procedures after that. :-) Mind you, this was a long time ago, FC5 from memory, but I haven't used lvm since!
