Hi Joe, I am sorry for the late repply. I am ill and work just partially. On Monday 02 February 2009, Joe Morris wrote:

Urgh, urgh, urgh, there were wrong dependencies.
The following steps worked for me:
1. Have the default OOo-3.0 from openSUSE-11.1 3. add the extra OpenOffice.org repository in YaST2
Do you mean the STABLE repo, or the EXTRA? I would assume STABLE.
Yes, I meant the OpenOffice.org:STABLE repo.
2. start "Software Management" in YaST2 3. select "OpenOffice_org" for update; agree to remove "OpenOffice_org-l10n-extras" and other packages to remove the conflict 4. select "OpenOffice_org-ure" to delete (popup menu when you press the right mouse button); agree to delete few more dependent packages 5. select "OpenOffice_org-libs-external" to delete 6. press the "accept" button; agree with the automatic changes
Do you still have some 3.0.0.9 packages still installed? I only ask because I thought I have tried this and it did not work for me. Maybe some 3.0.0.9 package is still needed for some reason. You can see my package list and rpm -V for each package in the bug report and yet it did not work for me.
No 3.0.0.9 packages are needed with the version 3.0.1.2. All 3.0.0.9 packages should be updated or removed. It is possible that it does not work for you because you removed the 3.0.0.9 packages too late. I am afraid that it might have removed some compat symlinks from /usr/share to /usr/lib. The symlinks allows architecture independent packages to safe space on the installation sources. I would like to fix OOo to find these files in /usr/share directly in the future but it might need lots changes. The symlinks work fine in normal situations but there was a mess because of the broken dependencies this time :-( It works much better with the packages in the OpenOffice_org:UNSTABLE repository, see http://en.opensuse.org/Additional_YaST_Package_Repositories#OpenOffice.org_U... I have fixed it already on Monday. Unfortunately, the packages are still not available in the OpenOffice_org:STABLE for openSUSE-11.1-x86_64. The are some problems in BS to make them public, see https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=471280. I hope that they will be ready within next two days. It is a nightmare.
No problem. None of us are perfect either. ;-) I really appreciate all your work to package that huge beast.
