Is there any reason why SuSE doesn't supply the full freetype package including contributed software? I notice that Redhat doesn't do so either. This is particularly irksome since current versions of teTeX are set up to use programs like ttf2pk (part of the freetype package) so that users can use Truetype fonts with their TeX system. Yes, I know it's easy to download and install a complete freetype package, but since the TeX package is set up to use this code it would be nice if SuSE was set up to use it too - it would be an advantage over Redhat.
