Works fine with SuSE 10.3 (and not 10.2 yet, 10.2 wouldn't support the built in Ethernet), except: - wifi (needs new HAL driver for this Atheros chip version, part of the Madwifi project, hopefully coming soon. Using ndiswrapper and the 64bit WinXP driver worked once, but not anymore ... dunno why, replaced by dlink usb wifi stick with ralink km.) - sound does not work with the boxed SuSE 10.3, but works fine only after upgrading all ALSA stuff to the very latest version, this includes the ALSA kernel module, and setting options in some of the modprobe.d files: ---- /etc/modprobe.d/sound --- options snd-hda-intel enable=1 index=0 alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel --- end --- ---- /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base --- options snd-hda-intel model=acer --- end --- - webcam (not investigated why yet, may be just loading a driver) - (memory card reader not tested yet) - suspend stuff not tested (don't need it) Overall nice notebook for that price, I use it as daily workhorse. Gets a little hot if having to run at full speed for longer time, you might wanna use a notebook cooler.
