apt-get

Hi, Been looking at the apt.conf manpages, mailing list archives, webpages etc, but there appears to be no answer to the question: "How do I make apt for SuSE-8.2 install a kernel package that depends on rpmlib <= 4.0.4-1?" I have tried various incarnations on the Fake-Provides theme in apt.conf without success.
