What is a 'DECO'?
TV decoder. I don't know exactly how it is called in English.
In the old days, it was a "set top box". I don't know if people have those anymore - my TV has built-in card readers.
Thanks, I've heard of set top boxes but think of them as an American thing. Wikipedia has more explanation of the possibilities than anybody could want: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Set-top_box But I understand the general idea now, thanks Per & Carlos. For me TV still comes over the air and requires a tuner, nowadays followed by a demultiplexor, before there's a stream that can be interpreted by a display processor. I believe in a year or two my landline will stop working and I will need to have new equipment that requires the power to be on in order to report a power failure :( Progress!
