Well, it's back. Has anybody else had a problem with their backgrounds in the KDE? The really strange thing is that the backgrounds work for the login screens. This is a very strange thing indeed. Steve Steven T. Hatton wrote:
Well I fixed it. I downloaded qt 1.33, and installed it. I'm not sure what was there before. As soon as I did that and restarted KDM all was cool.

All,
I am having a problem with my backgrounds in KDE 1.0b4. I am not able to get them to display. The last significant change I made was setting my mouse to an intellimouse. This did not cause a problem immediately. The problem came on suddenly, and without anything significant immediately preceding it. I have uninstalled then reinstalled the KDE and all the X stuff. I reinstalled all the qt stuff that I could find. If I look in the .xsession-errors I see:
Warning: Could not attach SHM. QPixmap::convertFromImage: Cannot convert a null image KBackground::KBackground KScreenSaver::KScreenSaver KGeneral::KGeneral KFM seems to be crashed !!!!!!! It looks to me that the problem is related to the line: "QPixmap::convertFromImage: Cannot convert a null image"
Any Ideas?
TIA,
Steve
