Hi,
I went out to www.wri.com/graphics, downloaded the collage.gif (the big one on the default page) to /temp and ran:
xv -root -quit /temp/collage.gif

Warning: Cannot allocate colormap entry for "#C0C0C0" Warning: Cannot allocate colormap entry for default background
Netscape looks like doo-doo. I have this same type of behavior on my
Yeah, I had the same problem, and I put the default "cement wall" background back in. It's a real problem if you try to run WABI( which requires 8bpp) and netscape(likes 16bpp) together without the default background. It seems to me that the first image loaded sets the basic colormap, and everything else has to conform as best as possible. With the default background, netscape locks in nicely. It seems that the default background has the best comprimise of colors. zentara -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
