I have a problem. I don't know if it's SuSE 7.2 in general, or just my box. For all non-root accounts, the Kmenu is screwed up. Root gets it right by first displaying menu selections from the directory: /opt/kde2/share/applnk ..then under the SuSE submenu it shows selections created by combining the entries in the directories: /etc/opt/kde2/share/applnk/SuSE /opt/kde2/share/applnk/SuSE Note, that kmenuedit reads the /opt/kde2/share/applnk directory. But all non-root accounts ignore /opt/kde2/share/applnk and build a main menu selection from: /etc/opt/kde2/share/applnk/SuSE /opt/kde2/share/applnk/SuSE So my question is, what have SuSE done to change the default KDE behaviour, and how do I get all the non-root accounts to read /opt/kde2/share/applnk as both root and kmenuedit do? Has anyone else got this problem? John
