I got an Aluratek AWC2KF. It says on the box that it supports Linux 2.6
I'm unsure of the meaning of "the camera supports Linux"
so I figured it would work but tumbleweed does not see it when I plug into USB. The KDE System Information detects it when I plug it in and remove it but the USB icon does not activate and applications cannot detect it. There is an Ubuntu driver available that can be modified for other distros according to the documents.
I think that you need to start a camera application first. Like digikam or shotwell. If not, the alternative (which I prefer) is to extract the camera memory card, and connect it on card reading tool to the computer. That is "standard". - -- Cheers Carlos E. R.
