Anyone have any idea when the next release is due, trying to determine if it's worth it to upgrade to 8.2(from 8.0) at this point...I tend to doubt it as I don't REALLY need it yet..
The main thing I am after is the 1.4 ver of JRE..but would like to avoid the dependency hell of trying to make the JRE work in 8.0..seems I recall there were some gcc compatability issues in 8.2 upon its first release...
seems I also recall from this list the x.0 releases are a bit better than the x.xx releases..

It will be a little while since it needs a fair amount of shaking out. There are new features and the refinements are still being done and polished. This is not an overnight process and I expect that it won't be determined as far as a final release date is concerned. There is a schedule but it is a loose format -- as the kernel team say -- it's ready when it's ready. Patiences. You'll have time to decide if an upgrade is warrented for you by then. Just MHO.
