Cable Modem/DSL Router/firewall/switch combinations are relatively inexpensive. Certainly a cheap dedicated PC with a Linux firewall and 2 NICs is one solution. Both Linksys and Netgear make a Cable Modem/DSL Router/firewall/switch combination. Both have single port versions for about $100US. The Linksys 4 port model, BEFSR41 has an integrated 4 port 10/100 switch and is available at Amazon.com for $148 +S&H. I recently priced them in stores at about $179 (CompUSA).
