just read on heise that X.org 7.1 has been released... but when I look at suse supplementary, it looks as if version considerations stopped at 6.8.2... any particular reasons? any chance at all to get 7.1 packages for 10.0, or even 9.2, somewhere?
I think you will have to wait till SUSE 10.2. IIRC it was told already on this list that the change of structure of X from monolithic to modular affects the system somewhat, so they are sticking with 6.9 for now. I do hope they use 7.1 in 10.2. Meanwhile, since Fedora 5 uses X 7.0, I gotta reboot to there to check if updated RPMs are available...
There is zero (0) difference between 6.9 and 7.0, except for the build system. Thus 6.9 was chosen for SL10.1, because the build concept is well understood and working. I guess you can see 7.1 packages for SL10.1 (maybe 10.0) from Stefan pretty soon. But that's speculation.
