My updated Tumbleweed has some music issues
qjackctl-0.9.10-1.3 does not list subsequently opened Rosegarden-22.12.1-2.3 in the connections dialog and shows qsynth-0.9.10-1.3 only now and then, rather unpredictably.
When I assign a rosegarden track to ZASF-dssi that dialog does not show the 1200 or so instruments dropdown list at all
Yoshimi-2.2.0-1.5 cannot be started.
add: Leap-15.5 jack_capture bombs with
# jack_capture Cannot lock down 86611866 byte memory area (Cannot allocate memory)
Warning. Could not set higher priority for a SCHED_OTHER process using setpriority(). Cannot use real-time scheduling (RR/5)(1: Operation not permitted) JackClient::AcquireSelfRealTime error Recording to "jack_capture_01.wav". Press <Return> or <Ctrl-C> to stop.
and one would wonder why, installing a file for Leap 15.5 into a Tumbleweed system. you might as well install fedora files also.
Tumbleweed \= Leap \= Tumbleweed
on some very odd occasion, an app *might* work, but ...
That jack_capture in Leap-15.5 is installed from the Leap repos (jack_capture-0.9.73-lp155.5.9-x867_64).
mixing repos from different distributions is a no-no and asking for problems, which you have.
NB. I have pretty much the same sound-studio packages installed on all my 7 distros (including Leap & TW), each the appropriate version, odd fubars notwithstanding.
jack_capture qsynth ardour rosegarden audacity yoshimi hydrogen sonicvisualiser simplescreenrecorder kdenlive guitarix
and you have found problems. and there is a tumbleweed build of jack_capture 0.9.73-1.13 but you know best. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet oftc
