After reporting a bug (memory hole) in kbabel (Bugzilla #256363) I'm told that «KBabel is unmaintained upstream». Is this so?
This is correct. Someone is working on something called KAider, which will replace it.
Yes, I have been told that. But it's so green as been unusable yet: at least that what their todo file says. KBabel is still usable, but I wonder how long will it take for it to fall in disrepair, as it is not maintained.
What other tools are there to translate .po files, then? Don't tell me to use emacs.
poEdit seems the only one aimed at the desktop, but KBabel is better IMO.
That's my feeling to. And gtranslate disappeared some time ago.
If you have a team you could use a web-based option like Kartouche (disclaimer: I wrote that) or Pootle, but they have drawbacks as well as benefits.
No team, I work lone... I haven't even been able to find an /active/ Spanish team mail list or equivalent :-( Might have a look at Kartouche or Pootle, I'm curious. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
