WineX with 8.2

Hi I'm trying to run Transgamings winex to play games using 8.2. I have the latest version of winex plus the point to play gui. The issue I'm finding is with pthreads which according to the Transgaming docs is a problem with some distros. I'm not sure what pthreads is, one of the error messages I got seemed to relate it to the version of GCC available. So my questions are : anybody running 8.2 with winex successfully and if so did you have this problem and how did you solve it ? what exactly is pthreads ? Thanks Mike
