Do it this way;
$ systemctl --user stop pulseaudio.service
Is Pulseaudio not socket-activated? I guess you should also need to stop the socket:
$ systemctl --user status pulseaudio.socket
You must mean systemctl --user stop pulseaudio.socket? Thanks, noted. I finally got my act together but don't ask me how. I tried all manner of cLi cluster attacks until I turned blue in the face. Something worked and I got what I wanted withOUT killing pulse. last post, first on page2: https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?t=25728&sid=195015ff8b68e83f4f1fbeee68811ecb&start=15 I "think" apps like Rosegarden & Yoshimi should maybe seriously expand their depends lists and setup scripts but I'm REALLY no one to have an opinion at those levels. -- "Peace is better than war; in peace the sons bury their fathers, in wars the fathers their sons".
