Pls bear with me as I'm really new with Suse. I use Suse 10.1. and trying to do online update.
I have searched the list and it seems that the online update mechanism in 10.1 is new and have some issues such as libzypp that we must update it first.
Have you guys had a look to http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs:Most_Annoying_Bugs especially http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs:Most_Annoying_Bugs#General_issues ?
In the 2nd section it is said to do the 1st package management update using "yast online_update" (aka "you") using super user rights.
This "you" run will offer by default just two packages (I have no idea if selecting more packages is wise or even not ...) which will select more necessary updates automatically. After this run of "you" has been ended every subsequent online update should be possible with "zen-updater".
Well, on the online update icon on the lower righ of the screen there are 132 updates availble. So I click on the update button, but then I've got this error message:
Dependency Resolution Failed. Establishing script:libzypp-patch-zmdrestart.sh-2-1533-1.noarch [SUSE-Linux-10.1-Updates] This would invalidate script:libzypp-patch-zmdrestart.sh-2-1533-1.noarch [SUSE-Linux-10.1-Updates]. Marking this resolution attempt as invalid.
In the list someone suggests to do Online update once to resolve the libzypp issue. But if I open the Yast > Software > Online Update. There is no package available for updates. I try to search libzypp, right click> update. But the version available is the same. Thus when I click "Accept" it's just closed.
How to resolve this?
By reading available documentation in advance ...
SCNR How many of You out there have read those document before You installed Suse 10.1. Suse 10-0 did not have that funny little thing, is it called Zen? What are the meaning with this little "thing", was Susewatcher not good enough, or?
I did a second install of opensuse 10.1, and I did the update with YOU, I did not read it any place, but it was a thing to try before I got back to 10.0. Now I am writing these on my new Opensuse 10.1 Gunnar -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
