The reaction to the 'skills shortage' seems to be to hire people who don't have the skills. Perhaps that why there are people like me (and a few others here) who are crying out about this. Perhaps that's why things like COBIT and ISO27K are growing in popularity - fall back to other people expertise and 'check lists' in absense of any real skill.
