firefox crashes when managing bookmarks

This is more of a nusiance than anything else, but is beginning to really get on my nerves. When I try to manage my bookmarks in firefox v 8, if I attempt to open a folder, the whole thing shuts down. I have to restart firefox, then go to bookmarks--->manage bookmarks, etc, etc. Only happens when I try to open or close a folder icon. Strange to me. Anyone else experienced this?
