Whern I select 'Restart' within GNOME 3.16 under Tumbleweed, the computer fails to restart. Instead the monitor shuts off (LED) and the fans in the PC spin down. It does not restart, nor does it shut down. This forces me to hold down the power button to restart.
Has anybody else encountered this problem? Where do I even start looking to figure this one out?
First, for question on Tumbleweed, please use the Factory List at: opensuse-factory@opensuse.org Second, to eliminate GNOME and X11 as causes, please try the following: 1. use "Logout" instead of "Restart" 2. at the GDM Login screen use [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[F1] to switch to the first virtual console. 3. now use [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Del] to start the restart. Does the abouve mentioned behavior (monitor off, fan down, no restart) still happen? - If yes, the a fault lies in the lower layer, not in GNOME. - If no, then either X11 or GNOME are the cause. - Yamaban. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
