Just got a new monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 2343BW) which supports the following resolution:
Res. Hor.Freq.kHz Vert.Freq.Hz Pixel clock MHz 2048x1152 70.992 59.909 156.750
When I run Yast2->Graphics card and Monitor, the resolution is not available.
My xorg.conf looks like this: http://pastebin.com/m6af4847d
I added the "2048x1158" values myself, but I have to admit I don't know what I'm doing with regards to xorg.conf.
How do I add the "2048x1158" resolution?

Hi,
I think, if you have a NVidia graphic card, you can setup the resolution using NVidia setup. KMenu, System, Configuration, Configure NVidia X Server Settings.

Thanks, running nvidia-settings made it work!

For those with nvidia-settings, don't forget you can always create your own modeline for xorg.conf with gtf:
gtf [H] [W] [Freq]
Thanks, David - this one is definitely getting filed away under "Useful Things To Know (TM)". I have been struggling getting our loungeroom LDV HD TV (an NEC) to play nicely with X (I could make it work find under Windows but it needs an odd combo of resolution and frequency (1366x768x60Hz or 166x900x75Hz - anything else and it displays "Out of Range"). Now I might have a chance to get it working...
