I have noticed with my USB webcam plugged in, the system seems to see it as a USB audio device. Kmix shows only one slider labeled USB Audio Class Driver. That is not much of a problem, since I use gamix for my mixer, and it works properly. The webcam also works properly.
Sound in general works properly. I can play CDs, oggs, wavs, use xawtv, etc. However, for some reason mpeg videos do not have sound. Why would they behave differently? If I unplug the usb webcam, mpeg videos have sound and Kmix turns into a normal mixer.
Any ideas why this would be? Has anyone else experienced this? The two systems that have done this for me are Red Hat 7.2 and SuSE 8.0.
Would there be a way to unload the USB Audio Class Driver? Where would I look for it?

I've got the same *exact* problem(?). It doesn't bother anything except when I play a video with sound, the video acts as if it's in extreme slow motion. If I tick off the sound part, the video goes back to regular speed. Real weird huh? John -- Linux...the freedom to do what *YOU* want, with *YOUR* computer.
