That's right it's a busy indicator and is good but seems that it's not easy to see. I mean there's people who haven't yet found it.
This is why I always get rid of GUI boot. It seems most people responsible for packaging such things have no knowledge of the meaning or need for accessibility, choosing to theme less than full screen and with low contrast colors.
