John, Try checking in your /home/<user>/.gaim directory for your sounds. The default sounds should be coming from there.
Nope, nothing there as far as sounds. I've actually extracted them from the gaim CVS tarball and dropped them in place.
However, gaim needs a "command" to play the sounds. I wasn't sure what to use there! Is there a console util in SuSE that will play wav files? I'm familiar with "play", but it's not here.
thanks for the reply! ======================
Oh, forgot to mention John, that there is a new build out today! 0.61-1 is available now, but requires the new GLIBC 2.3 and other Gnome2 stuff. I don't know if 0.60-1 requires the new things or not? I think all this will be supplied via SuSE 8.2, so will wait patiently. :o) Patrick -- --- KMail v1.5.9.1i --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.1 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...
