even more curious, does it not need Java to run at all? I mean, is it not a java application anymore? I don't recall any earth change like that in anything I read
IIRC, Sun had tried to develop a Java office suite. It didn't work, so they bought Star Office (and possibly the German company that produced it). I think that, at one point, they were going to make Star Office a Java app, but they switched drugs, and released SO 5.2, which, while not Java, had that dreadful user interface. I started using SO under OS/2 back around version 4. Not bad at all. They lost me with 5.2. The 6.0 beta is nice. There is an awful lot to be said for an office suite that runs under a bunch of different OS's. Be well, Lissa -- INCORPORATION, n.
