Why sda4? Since sda3 is extended, fdisk will not create sda4. What's wrong with sda5? It's not part of the LVM and worked fine before.
Fdisk would create sda4, but only if freespace exists adjacent to sda3. Sda5 is fine, but only if either: 1-Windows is primary boot manager (using standard MBR code); or 2-Grub is installed to sda2, sda3 or sda4 (using standard MBR code); or 3-Grub is installed to MBR (alien MBR code) -- "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.
