Just about finished installing 6.2 (from 6.1). Near the end of the install, YaST stopped installing packages. The first package this happened with was "pixmaps".
An error message was displayed "free list corrupt."
Aiee, IIRC, this is a kernel error message.
Then I de-selected pixmaps for install. The next package was "susewm". Guess what? Same problem.
A window pops up telling me to look for dependencies. I don't see anything that looks bad. Anyway, what would "pixmaps" need? I think that is just a set of icons.
BTW, "kpackage" seems to install RPMs just fine.
Any ideas?
This is not a YaST bug. The kernel gets messed up somehow. Do you overclock your machine? What kind of hardware do you have? Have a closer look at the warnings on console 4.
