"Robert C. Paulsen Jr."
My UPS just died and I need a replacement.
I don't think I want an exact replacement since I think the old one is under-spec'ed for my system. It was rated at only 185 watts (output) and I now have a 430 watt power supply in my system.
Can anyone recommend a good replacement?
The smallest UPS we have is an APC Smart-UPS 1000, which works fine. We also have a number of Smart-UPS 2200s, which likewise works fine. Smart-UPS 1000 might be overkill for your setup, but APC in general seems to be the way to go. When connected to a SuSE box with the serial cable they can be easily monitored with the apcupsd package, that comes with SuSE. -- Best regards Christian Laursen
