Ooooookay...if I were in Windows I would pretty much know what you were talking about (well, mostly). However, I'm still very much a newbie when it comes to Linux networking (i.e. what is the "/24"?;
Well I would like to put it like this: /24 is the number of bits in the netmask. I.e. /24 is the same as saying the netmask is 255.255.255.0. Was this too vague? Please tell me and I will correct myself.
