Went to the Brother site and found an rpm for SuSE. Installed that and still didn't work. Read the install instructions again, this time carefully. Found out you must run it on LPD. Didn't have that installed so we installed that and that uninstalled half of CUPS.
I suppose you mean the package "lprng". Yes, it is either that or cups, choose one.
There were one or two things in the instructions that confuse me. It says, '"Ensure that the :LP line reads as follows. :LP=/dev/USB/lp0 " Have no idea what the :LP line is or where I would find it and they do not say.
I think that would be in /etc/printcap, but I'm unsure. There is quite some documentation in /usr/share/doc/packages/lprng/Reference/index.htm - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFD4fbXtTMYHG2NR9URAjLBAJ0b0StNrcFW3Go8ZPamzCfuFbGbPQCdGgBP cLDghHPGgrrRmcJ8cKh/Z+M= =h4UH -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
