What you'll need to do is use an SMP kernel. You can either compile your own (turn on SMP support in the kernel config and set the number of CPUs to 2) or use the precompiled one, which you should be able to install with YaST. The regular kernel will work, but it will not run as fast as it should with the two CPUs. -----Original Message----- From: Kyle Korndoerfer [mailto:kkorndoerfer@yahoo.com] Sent: Friday, October 29, 2004 9:10 PM To: SuSE-Linux Subject: [SLE] 1->2 CPU, reinstall needed? I've had SuSE 9.0 Pro running on my server for a while now with only 1 of the 2 CPU's. I've recently aquired the second CPU and am wondering if I need to re-install SuSE in order to fully take advantage of the second CPU. I am using the stock Kernel from when I installed, plus any updates that have came down via YAST. Thanks for the info. -={ Kyle }=- __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
