Hi!
This is perhaps a silly question, but I have looked through most of the list archives and found nothing to help me.
I have recently moved fro SuSE 6.4 to 7.3 and while I had no problems compiling kernels in the older version, I cant work out what I am doing wrong with the newer version.
After going through the usual steps to make a bzImage and copying that and the System.map to /boot plus adding the correct entry to lilo.conf and running lilo, the computer hangs after the message:
Loading linux...................... Uncompressing Linux...Ok, booting the kernel
I can of course get the new kernel to load, but only after the computer has been booted with the cd and choosing the option load installed system. Only after changing back to the original SuSE kernel, will the system boot on its own.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Paul
Put off the APM settings, choose the correct CPU, put off the SCSI, and after try puting on one by time. .geekcode.com -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.1 GCS/cc/e/it d++ s+:+ a-- C++$ UL+++$ E++ W+++$ w--- O---- M V- PS PE+++ Y+ PGP- t+ 5 X++ R tv+ b++ DI-- D+ G e++$ h! r++ y++ ------END GEEK CODE BLOCK------ - A veces creo que hay vida en otros planetas, y a veces creo que no.
