Cliff, I used to use a Tekram. Worked very well but there was an inconcistancy in the install. If you allowed SuSE to autodetect it would load the Adaptec drivers and would halt the computer because the card does not respond. I have done a bit of googling, and found a local supplier selling Tekram DC390 2UW (Symbios chipset+bootrom) at a price I can afford. It seems to have had good reviews, but it would be nice to hear from anyone actually successfully using one.
To recall I have an Asus TUSLC m/board with Intel 815 chipset.
