To sum things up, I'm giving up VMware and are going for VirtualBox.
You're not alone on this decision. Most people I work with have done the same... VMWare is a good product and has it's benefits and uses, but VirtualBox just works without needing to tinker. I gave up on VMWare about a year ago, and don't miss it at all.

I'm sorry for bothering you fine people again, but I must report this... I first installed the open source edition from within YaST. Tooke me about 2 minutes. And I was airborne. I then installed a Windows2003 server as a guest. Took me 1 hour or so. I then remembered that the OSS version doesn't support USB which I need. So I un-installed the OSS version, downloaded the non-free version and ran the RPM. Took me about 3 minutes. The software started compiling a needed module for my running kernel. Succesful. I then fired up VB which duly fired up my Win2003 only this time with USB support. Which works. And...BTW...here are the file sizes: 42148716 26 aug 20:03 VirtualBox-3.2-3.2.8_64453_openSUSE113-1.i586.rpm 504809788 25 aug 10:47 VMware-server-2.0.2-203138.i386.rpm VMware being more than 10 times as big. I'm hooked on VB from now on.
