Hello,
I have installed Leap-15.1 about two months ago. (Almost) everything was working fine.
Today, I booted up this system again, and can no longer login to KDE. I can type username/password, but then nothing happens. Keyboard is dead. Only mouse can be mooved. Even CTRL-ALT-F1 won't work to switch to a virtual console.
As long as I do not try to login to KDE, I can switch to virtual console via CTRL-ALT-F1 and login as root and/or ordinary user. When I switch back to CTRL-ALT-F7 and try to login to KDE, keyboard is dead again and login screen won't vanish.
Below is /var/log/messages of the login attempt.
For me, only the lines marked with "(*)" look suspicous. Maybe somebody else can get more clues out of this?
Any ideas how to track this down?
One way to get more information may be to boot the system, then ssh into it from another machine. Then try to login on the machine and when it hangs you may be able to investigate further using the ssh session.
