One pearl of wisdom you might want to consider: Check the version of Linux (undoubtably unstable) and the version of video drivers on the Knoppix. SuSE tends to go conservative with video drivers and code until some form of stability is seen. Knoppix is truly bleeding edge but when it works it works. Try it on a test laptop and sometimes it justs barfs all over the desktop. Then you gotta play with the LILO/GRUB switches at boot. Run Knoppix until you got your intel straight and then make your choice. I await until someone puts a CD/DVD version of OpenSuSE ala Knoppix to see how it fares.
