No real clue, but It might depend on which process was chewing up the CPU. I'd try deleting the calendar, then adding it back in and seeing if that clears up the problem. I'm not seeing it here, so its hard for me to guess. I've seen Kmail go bonkers but not so much Thunderbird. Usually if I apply some Updates via yast, and forget to shutdown and/or reboot, something will pop up and use all available ram or run the CPUs up.
