Hi,
I have SuSE 9.1 Linux PC which is used for video purposes. It requires value
of swappiness to be very low in order to avoid video flickering. I have set swappiness with "echo 10 > /proc/sys/vm/swappiness".
However, after reboot it is back to 60 (echo `cat /proc/sys/vm/swappiness`).
Anyone knows how to make this change permanent?

You have to put it in boot.local, so each time you reboot, the value is there...
SuSE has a special script for this, it's /etc/init.d/boot.sysctl. All you have to do is to create /etc/sysctl.conf with proper entries. Regards, -Kastus
