This is dependent on what rate the encoder of the mp3 chooses. You can go up to 256 k/s. I usually use 128 k/s. For those of you that can't use cdda2wav to rip tracks because your cdrom isn't supported, check out cdparanoia. It works great on a lot of drives that cdda2wav bails on.
