Cristea, If you can listen to the radio you can record it. Follow the steps one by one and you should be able to record it. If you can not you are doing something wrong :-) Ciao -=terry(Denver)=- On Sun, 2007-05-13 at 18:39 +0300, Cristea Bogdan wrote:
With my mms stream it doesn't seem to work. However interesting solution. Thanks anyway. Bogdan

What suggestions could you give for an application who can record radio while listen over Internet? Ideally I need something very simple who can be started and stopped quickly and able to record directly in mp3 format.
Cristea,
You can use Amarok here is how to do it:
HowTo record stream from internet radio
1. Get from packman repository:
streamripper
2. Get the RecordRadio bash script which enables streamripper as plugin for Amarok
http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=32842
3. Open Amarok /Playlists/Tools/Script manager/Install script Go to the wherever you download the RecordRadio script and install it. Note: do not extract the file just leave compressed.
4. In the script manager select RecordRadio-OnDemand and click Run The mp3 will be saved into ~/Music
5. Then Select the stream Rmouse /Record Radio /Listen and Record Stream
6. There is a front end to streamripper called kstreamripper. You can download it from packman too. I do not use it because is far more convenient inside Amarok (imho) It rips shoutcast streams and splits them up in single mp3 files with file names and ID3 tags based on the information the stream sends.
Ciao
