Until last week I would have said the same... but my ISP, PlusNet, are about to introduce disconnects for low end home products when no activity is seen on the line for 30 minutes.
BTW: I'm very happy with PN, and have no problems with this. It's very easy to overcome with a little cron job to send some data down the line every 15 minutes.
Still, the router should be able to handle that.
