Questions: 1. What is a mail header, I used Outlook's help and it does not refer to headers, the term header they use has nothing to do with what mail headers in our world mean. 2. How do I access the mail headers under Outlook ore Outlook express?
I don't use Outlook at all (never have) but a quick look at it seems to indicate that:
File ---> Properties --> Details
will get you the header for the currently selected email. Doesn't seem to be too tough.
For you, me, and the tree, no. But for the typical Windows user? This is like asking them to climb Mt Everest with one hand while wearing only Bermuda shorts. If it isn't plainly in front of their face or can't be reached with just one click, more often than not they'll never find it.
This is exactly what I mean. And there is another aspect. The only reason I subscribed is that I can post messages. Why on earth do I have to get all the messages now sent to me? I have all I need on http://linux.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/SuSE/2006-08/ nicely threaded, or from http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-linux-e/2006-Aug/. If I want a local copy of a message; there are even search engines that will retrieve messages pertaining to certain topics. I can download it from there. I am sure that there are others in this mailing list that work similarly. It could save considerable bandwidht if the mailing list would allow a 'post only' subscription. Peter
