Thanks a lot; I knew that SuSE was cool. It wasn't all "automatic", but it certainly wasn't the hard-way either (I was already configuring a new kernel for compilation).
Additional note:
xf86_glx does not exist in the original kit, it can't be installed with YaST. It can be found in the updates.
