Hi- I wrote some email to the developer of slrn (JED) abotu color support in rxvt terminals and he told me about one setting guaranteed to make one see flashing lites - namely set use_blink 1. This will realy light up your rxvt terminal if you use slrn. One note, JED has released a version which seems to have more consistant color support and uses the latest version of slang also. Other options I have discovered include tweaking colors and including something like: normal black default as one color choice in your .slrnrc file. This works quite nicely and does not provide a really bright interface. If you do not want white backgrounds, you can experiment with different normal color settings also. These are just some basic ideas about using slrn. I think slrn is a really cool news application and its a lot of fun finding out more about what makes it tick. Note that the most current version of slrn 0946 requires the slang 1.0.3 libs. These compile without complaint on my SuSE 5.1 system, BTW. -- --Michael Perry-- mperry@basin.com -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
